DaSilva - Ready to Rock!

April 2003

Toronto, ON - for immediate release

Joe DaSilva come off the 2002 season glad to be back racing. Sure he had won twice in 2002 but he was not content with the performance of his Wolfe Racecraft built Mustang. Rule changes that came along as Dave Wolfe constructed the Reider Racing Enterprises Mustang actually made the car obsolete before it hit the track. The intrepid trio of DaSilva, Wolfe and Job Spetter Jr soldiered on for the remainder of 2002 and came away with some impressive performances but not impressive enough for DaSilva. Over the winter Wolfe stretched the front end to the legal maximum wheelbase and plumbed in two nasty T-76 turbos from Turbonetics among other things. DaSilva also made another major change by enlisting Keith Craft Racing Engines to assemble a powerplant that is matched to the twin turbo setup. To harness all that power DaSilva has returned to Liberty's Gears and their new Equalizer transmission in place of the previously used Lenco.

The Reider Racing Mustang also sports a new look with a flame job on the newly extended nose and a totally flat hood. The new turbo plumbing from Wolfe Racecraft allowed the team to do away with the previously used cowl hood and look for gains in aerodynamics. One thing is for sure, DaSilva's Mustang will turn heads wherever it goes.

With all these changes DaSilva, Wolfe and Spetter know they will have some new car blues. To minimize the effect it has on their racing program the team is going to test at an undisclosed venue shortly. A full report on the test session will be forthcoming. The team is planning to attend the remaining Fun Ford Weekend events along with selected NMCA Pro Outlaw races. DaSilva is also scheduling some NHRA events and taking a shot at the BB/AT national records.

The DaSilva team would like to welcome the following people who have come on board in 2003, we appreciate your help. Turbonetics, GRP Connecting Rods, Scat Crankshafts, Mickey Thompson Tires, Keith Craft Racing Engines and Liberty's Gears.

We also would like to thank our returning sponsors. Tom at Reider Racing Ent. and Precision Gear, we could not do it without you.
