Bill: in picture 1, look at the bracket Mark and
crew fabricated to hold the intercooler down. This is super
important, because 30+ pounds of boost is running inside the car.
If the cooler were to vent off inside the car, the pressure would
be enough to break the windows. Also notice the data
recorder from
Competition Data Systems, and the
Koni electric shocks.
Picture 2: Yeah, this is the back. It's the part I'd
like my competition to get used to seeing. This is also
where where the
Weldon Race Pumps will reside. Joe Amato from
Downs Ford
will be supplying their Signature Series fuel system to complete
the fuel circuit. The wiring in picture 3 is waiting for
completion by Bob from
Spaghetti Menders.
It was taken apart so that the panel with all the electrical
relays could be moved. That panel originally resided where
the intercooler tubing comes through the dashboard. In
picture four, notice the custom high-tech unobtainium valve covers
that are required to run in the Pro 5.0 class.
The nose, in picture 5, is
waiting for the hood skin to return from
Hairy Glass so that it
can be bonded back on. Brandon Switzer (the original owner
of the car) had a Pro-Stock scoop on it. Notice also where
RaceCraft had to cut the hole in the front fascia for the turbo.
In the next picture, check out how Mark had to run a support brace
from the motor plate to the turbo discharge tube. This
holds the tube up, and makes sure that the tube doesn't move
around under the serious tire shake that all these machines
experience from time to time. In the next picture, check out
the remote-mount CSI
water pump, routed under the discharge tube. The last
picture is a great shot of how the crossover pipes blend together
before they enter the turbine housing. Mick
Kmetz, of Mark's team, constructed this, and has incredible
fabrication skills.
