NMRA Ford Nationals Releases
2004 Event Schedule!
2 New Venues added to
the schedule, bringing the total number of events to 9!
|
For Immediate Release:
Santa Ana, CA – The NMRA Ford Nationals
Series today announced its 2004 event schedule, which will increase from
eight events to a total of nine. The season will once again kick off
with the 3rd Annual Nitto Tire NMRA Spring Ford Nationals at Bradenton
Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida, on March 11-14, and end with the
6th Annual Nitto Tire NMRA World Finals in Bowling Green, Kentucky in
October.
The NMRA Ford Nationals Series will visit seven of the same venues as in
2003, but the biggest news is the addition of two new venues to the
series. On June 18-20, the NMRA will open the 1st Annual NMRA Ford
Nationals at Kansas City International Raceway in Kansas City, Missouri.
ProMedia Vice President of Events and Business Development Charlie
Harmon, said "This event will provide an excellent opportunity to extend
the reach of the NMRA brand West of the Mississippi, and in doing so
bring the NMRA Ford Nationals Series to the very doorstep of many
long-time and key supporters of the NMRA. ATI ProCharger, Aeromotive,
Weld, Taylor Cable and Vertex are all playing a big roll in the KCIR
event."
The other new venue to be added to the schedule is U.S. 131 Raceway in
Martin, Michigan. The NMRA event will occur at U.S. 131 the weekend of
September 10-12, much to the delight of the thousands of Michigan-based
Ford racers and fans. Harmon said, "2004 will mark the NMRA’s return to
the state of Michigan and the Mecca of the automotive industry. U.S. 131
is a state-of-the-art drag racing venue that is second to none in the
region. We are anxious to satisfy the demands of our many fans,
participants, and sponsors who eagerly awaited the NMRA’s return to
Michigan."
These exciting additions to the 2004 NMRA Ford Nationals schedule will
serve to strengthen the NMRA’s status as one of the leading heads-up
drag racing series in the world. From it’s Florida season-opener to it’s
Kentucky Finals, the 2004 season will be one for the record books.
Headquartered in Santa Ana, Calif., ProMedia is the leading event

For Immediate Release:
PRO Hot Rod and Muscle Car Nationals Release Event Schedule, Two New
Venues and Classes Added in 2004
SANTA ANA, Calif. -- The PRO Hot Rod and Muscle Car Nationals has announced
its 2004 racing schedule, which includes the addition of two new events and
venues bringing the number of events to be contested in 2004 to eight. The
season will once again open at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton,
Florida, on the weekend of April 16-18 with the running of the 2nd Annual
Pro Hot Rod and Muscle Car Nationals and conclude with the 3rd Annual PRO
World Street Finals in Memphis October 8-10.
Many of the same venues visited in 2003 will once again be on the 2004 tour,
which includes the PRO Edelbrock Drag Racing Series and the PRO Auto Show
Spectacular Presented by Car Craft Magazine. The most exciting news
according to Charlie Harmon, ProMedia Vice President of Business and Event
Development, is the addition of two new events that will extend PRO's reach
into two rapidly expanding markets. The first being Atco Raceway in Atco
N.J., which will host the tour May 21-23.
The second is the addition of U.S. 131 Dragway in Martin, Mich., which will
host the series July 9-11. "With the growing popularity of heads-up drag
racing in the Northeast, it's great to add Atco to the schedule. We've had a
great deal of success with our NMRA Ford Nationals Series there and look
forward to bringing our brand of street-legal racing to the fans and racers
of that area," Harmon said.
The addition of the U.S. 131 race brings, for the first time, the PRO Series
into Michigan. "U.S. 131 has become the showplace for drag racing in
Michigan. With it's state-of-the-art facilities and proximity to the
automotive capital of the world we're excited about the opportunity to
present our series to such a great fan base," Harmon concluded.
In addition to the new venues, PRO has announced the creation of two new
classes in 2004: Mean Street and SuperTruck. Mean Street will be the
ultimate "real world non-power adder" heads-up class in the PRO series. It's
a non-power adder class designed for street-equipped, stock-bodied and
stock- appearing cars and trucks featuring small-blocks with a maximum of
385 cubic inches. The SuperTruck class has been designed for any year, make,
and model truck or Sport Utility Vehicle. The class will run on an Open Comp
format with a 1-tenth (1/10th) breakout.
These exciting additions to the 2004 PRO Hot Rod and Muscle Car Series will
serve to strengthen PRO's status as one of the leading heads-up drag racing
series in the world. From its Florida season-opener to its World Street
Finals the 2004 season will be one for the record books.

Through the hard work of my family and the staff at
the World Race Events, we have been able to provide
the Ford Racing community with the one annual race
that is a “must do” for anyone serious about Ford
Performance. For 2004, we will be offering our fans
over 750 drag race participants, 800 car show
entrees, and over 50,000 fans jamming the
state-of-the-art St. Louis facility. As has been
stated many times before, the Mobil 1 World Ford
Challenge has become the standard by which all other
Ford shows are judged. However, I want to assure you
that we have worked tirelessly to make sure that
your Mobil 1 World The most important part of making
this happen is that beautiful, spacious, and
professional setting that is Gateway International
Raceway. This professional venue is necessary to
hold the amazing sights and sounds which envelope
the annual crowds of thousands of Ford fans that
make up the Mobil 1 World Ford Challenge. As for
performance, it is now common knowledge that this
racing surface serves up record setting performances
in every class, year after year, at each World Ford
Challenge. |

On
May 13-16, 2004 you will watch as hundreds of the
top Ford racers from around the world battle it out
for the richest guaranteed cash purse in the history
of Ford Drag Racing. This brings out the top Ford
teams and rewards the winners with cold, hard cash.
Besides that, it turns up the pressure, forcing the
round by round racing action to be hot. This gives
the World Ford Challenge fans the most competitive
races they will only see once a year – at World Ford
Challenge 7! Pro Mod 5.0 is the top draw at WFC7,
and this year we’ll pay $35,000 to the winner of
this class with dozens of the fastest Mustangs in
the world battling it out in the 6-second zone at
over 225 mph! Doug Mangrum, Les Baer, Billy Glidden,
Randy Eakins, and Donnie Walsh, Jr. have won past
Pro Mod 5.0 championships. Who will join them in
2004 as the undisputed king of the Mustangs?

|
|
In 2003, we helped establish Pro
Street Outlaw, the ten-inch tired freak show, as one of the
wildest classes in all of heads-up drag racing. Timmy Lynch
took the top prize, and he’ll be back to see if he can once
again grab the $15,000 for first place against the likes of
John Urist, Dan Millen, Brad Brand, Mike Calvert, Sammy
Vincent, Jim Blair, Keith Szabo, Mike Trimandilis, Gary
Rohe, and over 40 Pro Street Outlaw teams as they duke it
out. Continuing our tradition as innovators in the Ford
industry, we will be offering you the most creative lineup
of classes in Ford Drag Racing - classes like Wild Street,
Hot Street, Real Street, Pro Lightning, and the Ford Diesel
Challenge, Drag Radial, and the Cobra Eliminator. In all, we
will be offering our WFC7 participants 9 heads-up classes, 6
open-comp eliminator classes, and 3 bracket classes. The WFC
Technical Director has masterfully adjusted our rules so
that with minimal modification, racers from all Ford
sanctioning bodies can compete at WFC7. This means that you
will see match-ups of your favorite Ford teams that will
only occur once this year, at WFC7!
|
 |
|

|
|
As
you look down the dragstrip, you will notice that
the massive Auto-Show Spectacular (with over 70
classes of competition) is positioned to the left.
This allows both the WFC7 drag race and car show to
go on simultaneously so no one misses a single round
of action! Also, one of the biggest draws of our
event is the monstrous manufacturers’ midway. This
part of the WFC7 will allow you to interact with
over 200 manufacturer’s representatives to make sure
you find that go-fast part for your Ford. We have
also expanded the WFC souvenir merchandise area, so
please take the time to pick up your Official WFC7
T-shirt to remind you of this special event. It has
been an amazing six years of Ford Racing that has
lead us up to this event. I want to thank each and
every one of you for your part in making the WFC so
special. As a racer, car show participant, sponsor,
or fan, you have done your part in making Ford
Racing History. And, together, we will shape the
future of this great sport with larger crowds,
record-setting performances, and good times. If this
is your first experience with the WFC, welcome. I
think you will quickly realize why they call the
World Ford Challenge the “Super Bowl” of all Ford
events. Now, on with the show!
Sincerely,
George Gonzalez
