We have collected a
number of simple yet useful formulas that can be used to help you to
build your next race car. Most of the formulas require very
few details and produce relatively accurate results. We don't
claim to be an expert in any of this stuff but I have found each of
the formulas to be useful in answering a variety of questions.
In many instances you
will need to combine the results of a number of the formulas to get
the answer to a specific question. For example, when you are
trying to determine the correct carburetor size for you car, you
will need to know the maximum RPM that you can safely rev the motor
to. You can use the Piston Speed calculator to figure out a
safe RPM limit, plug the RPM into the Gear Ratio calculator to see
if you have the proper gears and tire sizes, and then go ahead and
select the best carburetor size for the RPM range you plan on
using. Be creative!
