Questions

How long have you been drag racing?  9 years

How did you get your start?  Bracket racing a mildly modified 93 GT that I had at the time

What’s been the biggest challenge to your racing program this season?  Compared to last season?  Biggest challenge for 2002 was time and money. I kept breaking parts and needed a better fuel system.

What would you consider your biggest accomplishments as a racer?  Biggest accomplishment was winning the Orlando event in 2001. I have always been on a very tight budget and it was very rewarding to win a race with a budget motor. Still had the stock shortblock at that time that went 11.31@120mph in P/S.

What’s gotten you hooked on the Mustang drag racing scene?  Mainly the competition. That's what keeps me coming back year after year

What are your plans for the future?  2003 I will be teaming with former P/S racer Steve Moberley and we will be running Chris Beningo's former R/S car in P/S. Steve bought the car back in the fall and we have big plans for it in P/S in 2003. A new motor is currently being built to take advantage of the new rules.

What changes, if any, do you feel the sanctioning bodies need to make in order for our sport to prosper?  I'd like to see more contingency money in the NMRA.

Who are your biggest friends (or enemies) at the track?  All the P/S racers are a great bunch of guys

Who do you fear having to see at the starting line?  Why? It doesn't matter who is in the other lane. I just go up there and do my thing.

What would you tell someone looking to start out in the heads-up racing scene?  Its much more expensive than it looks on paper. But, at the same time, its fun and very rewarding.

Very briefly, tell me the dumbest mistake you've ever made at the race track?  Forgetting to hit the 2-step button at Bowling Green 2000. I staged the car, put the pedal to the floor without hitting the 2-step. Bent most of the exhaust valves.

Anyone you’d like to thank, wives you HAVE to thank, other things not mentioned you feel are important?  All the sponsors. Its with their support that I have been as successful as I have. Also my wife Kara for all of her support.

What music do you listen to?  Who’s your favorite?  AC/DC, Metallica, POD, Disturbed, Godsmack, etc

Any nick names for you?  no

Do you have any pets?  yes, a Persian cat and a 3 year old German Shepard. Both stay in the house.

Do you have kids?  no

What do you like to do as a hobby outside of drag racing?  not much. I'm busy with work mostly. Drag racing is my hobby.

What track do you dislike the most?  Orlando. Its a damn sand pit.

Which is your favorite track to race on?  Bowling Green

Do you have a lucky charm?  What is it?  A gold Mustang pendant that my wife got me several years ago.

If you could meet anybody you wanted living or not who would it be?  Why?  Can't really think of anyone.
