How long have you been drag racing?
On and off for about 5 years now.
How did you get your start? I would have to say I was
mostly influenced by the owner of the first shop I worked at. My
friends helped a little too.
What’s been the biggest challenge to your racing program this season? Compared to last season? The biggest challenge would have
to be finding extra money to put into my car. As everyone knows it
takes lots and lots of money to run up front. I guess that's why I'm
usually in the middle of the pack.
What would you consider your biggest accomplishments as a racer?
Making it to the Semi-Finals at the 2000 FFW Spring Break Shoot-Out.
What’s gotten you hooked on the Mustang drag racing scene?
A lot of my friends had Mustangs and it was always a big contest to
see who was faster than who. I also enjoy hanging out at the track
with the guys that I race with.
What are your plans for the future? Hopefully be able to
spend some more time with my racing program and work my way toward the
top part of the field. I would like to put myself in the situation
where I will be able to attend a few more races each year.
What changes, if any, do you feel the sanctioning bodies need to make
in order for our sport to prosper? Find a set of rules and
stick with them. Don't make changes every year. Then when you do come
up with a set of rules, make sure everyone sticks by them. I think you
will have more people join a class and keep the old ones there if
there is a little more consistency in the rules from year to year.
Who are your biggest friends (or enemies) at the track? I
get along with pretty much everyone I see at the track. No real
enemies to speak of.
Who do you fear having to see at the starting line? Why? Not
any particular person. Besides, I think I am my biggest enemy when it
comes to racing.
What would you tell someone looking to start out in the heads-up
racing scene? Make sure they have plenty of money to spend.
Very briefly, tell me the dumbest
mistake you've ever made at the race track? The very first
time I went to the track, I did my burnout in the water box. I had all
sorts of water dripping off the bottom of my car. The next few guys
down the track after me weren't exactly lining up to be my best
friends I can tell you that.
Anyone you’d like to thank, wives you HAVE to thank, other things not
mentioned you feel are important? Rob Wells, for all the
things he has shown me as well as all the help he has given me. Carl
Addy, for taking a chance back-in-the-day by giving me a job and all
the things that he has taught me over the years. My boss for giving me
the time off to go racing and all the girlfriends I have had that put
up with me and my car for as long as they did before the split.
What music do you listen to? Who’s your favorite?
Just about anything but country. I can't stand country music.
Any nick names for you? Kidd Rock, Joe Hippie, Ballsack
Do you have any pets? A Ball Python.
Do you have Kids? Not that
I know of.
What do you like to do as a hobby outside of drag racing?
Drink beer and hang out at strip clubs. I also ride my 4-wheeler when
the weather is nice and I have time.
What track do you dislike the most? Any track in the
summer. It's always too damn hot.
Which is your favorite track to race on? Bradenton. It's
my home track and the place I always test at.
Do you have a lucky charm? What is it? No.
If you could meet anybody you wanted living or not who would it be? Why? Ron
Jeremy. Because every time I have seen him he always has a bunch
of good looking women with him and you just never know.
