Who is running faster then mid 12's with stock springs..? Just wondering.. How are your 60's? Also is anyone using a airbag with the stock springs?

I know one guy thats running stock springs. He is running an airbag, and air shocks. He also is using southside bars Ithink. He is having no prolems keeping traction, or twisting. He is runnig 7.20's in the 1/8th. I think since I building the ultimate BUDGET racer I am using boxed factory control arms, poly bushings, air bag, and airshocks. That is what I am running next season. We'll see how it goes I guess.

Stock GT springs all 4 corners, 6.25 @ 111.8 with a 1.45 60 ft @ 3250 lbs. Best 60 ft was 1.44. All I have are 90/10's, 50/50's and SS lowers. Tires are lil 28 x 9 et streets. I wonder how much these Wolfe uppers and sway bar will help? :)

YAAAAAHOOOOO Bobo!!!! Glad to hear you picked up the Wolfe stuff! I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I know that you are aware of the times that i've ran with stock style stuff, but i'll repeat for the other guys in this post. My best 60 foot was 1.262 and i average in the 1.28-1.30 range. I run double adjustable Wolfe uppers, adjustable lowers, solid sphericle bushings, and their double adjustable sway bar. In the fron i'm running HAL 12 way adjustable coil over struts. I thought about ladder barring the car this winter and then decided the hell with it. If it ain't broke don't fix it! I put about 20 hours of welding into the torque boxes when i did the rear Oh, i forgot to mention that the rear springs were bought from NAPA for a 5 liter LX and cost me $45. suspension installation, but i still wonder how long they are going to hold up to 1000HP nitrous launches. Don't put 4 cylinder springs in the back. You want a stiff spring so that it plants the tires harder instead of compressing. This is not my advice, it came straight from Wolfe!
My last car was an 83 GLX coupe with a 306 and a C4. I ran a 4500 stall in it, a 9" rear with 4.30 gears, 28X10X15 M/T's, and fully stock front and rear suspension. It would 60 foot in the high 1.5's all day long and run 11.50 - 11.80's....but it was rather light. My belief is that if you are not running in the 10's you don't need rear suspension work. I'm sure there are people out ther that will argue with me, but i've never needed it in the coupe's that i've ran. Before i put the Wolfe stuff on my current car i had South Side lowers, boxed stock uppers, Eibach springs, and an air bag.....and the car hooked hard and went straight. I bought the chassis that way and think the springs were more for the lowered stance than anything. The car had a really tight nitrous converter and i never sprayed it so my best 60 foots were in the mid 1.50's and i'd run 10.30's at 131MPH, so i should have been well into the 1.40's with the short times. Oh well, that's enough babble for now. Repeat after me.......We don't need no stinking coil overs!

Yo Snow I'm glad I picked up the Wolfe stuff too :) Your 60 ft times are killer. Are you running a progressive controller or anything? I'll either run 28 x 10" slix or et streets next year probably. I may get a tubular k member and a arms to take off some weight up front. I plan on running 120 in the 1/8 which I believe is around 150 in the 1/4. I'm just wondering if I'll be able to put all the power down out of the hole or if I'll need a boost controller. This car makes full boost almost the instant I leave the line, and it's spun bad more than once ;)
Snow, ever figure out how to get the weight down? What can ya get it down to? And of course ya got to add the 2nd stage ;) What ya think it'll run? My guess is good hehe :)
As far as another good stock susp car, my friends coupe with stock block 347 and 150 shot has run 6.40's in the 1/8 with.....well.....nothing lol. Stock uppers, lowers, not even a factory sway bar, stock springs. Just 28 x 10 MTs. Oh yeah, 1.40 60 ft, with a 3 or 4 ft high wheelie ;) Cya

No controller. The second i let off of the transbrake button she starts spraying. I plan on using a timer to bring the second stage in. I haven't done anything with the car since i took the motor out of it a month ago. I've been hee-hawing about a set of Yates heads VS the new Victors and have finally decided to just have mine freshened up. I'll be sending them out to TEA some time in the VERY near future. As far as the weight issue goes, i plan on starting on the chassis the second weekend in January. An aluminum drive shaft and center section for my 9" will be my starting points, as well as pulling out the 15 gallon fuel cell and putting in a 3 gallon so i can monitor the amount of fuel i have in the car a lot more closely. I'll just have to wait and see how things go after that. Everybody keeps emailing me and telling me it's easy to get there....but i don't think their cars are carrying 2 15# nitrous bottles and all of the other components necessary to run 2 fogger stages. I'm just going to have to spend a bunch of time trying to pull as much weight out as i can. If i can get down close to 2700 i'll head for Bradenton. If i can't do it with my budget i'll just say piss on the NMRA for 2002 and test some more. After all, it's not all that bad. Every time i lauch the car and carry the front end through the 60 foot timers it's ALMOST as fun as a win light.......and much more fun than sex! LOL!
As far as what i think it will run with the second stage....I talked with Mike Testani a few times and he was kind enough to share his incremental times with me. My current combination was running about a tenth of a second slower than him in the 1/8th when he just used one stage. On the other hand, my 60 foot times were just as good as his, if not a little better, which is a good sign. I'm hoping the valve and head work will put me in the 8.10 range with the second fogger......but it's only a guess for now. Did i ever send you any picutes of my car? Send me your email address and i'll shoot you a couple......

I forsee low 8's :) What heads ya got now? Man I'd be scared to see what it'd do with some good Yates or Brodix :O You can get some Chapman ported Yates for the low low price of 10,000 lol!!!
What nitrous kits ya using?

I can score a pair of front 4 cyl. springs for free, but someone said that you had to change out the spindles for them to fit? Is their a trick to them, or can you drop them right in? My 85 has run 12.9 @ 116, so I need a little help on my short times...best one was 2.565!!!

Hell Yeah, Thanks! What would be a good strut to include in that swap? 90/10's, 70/30's or an adj.? I still use the 7.5" rear (unbelievably) w/3.73's. I want a good launch while keeping that glass-jawed rear end in existence for as long as possible.
