Back from the dead!
1971 351 block, .040 over
CHP main girdle
Canton pan
Roller cam conversion with spider hold down

lol ... that is not an option!
it has bbk rear control arms now
this is a 100% street car, so i'm thinking about going to 17x8 front and 17x10.5 rear (deep dish) with nitto or toyo proxes 315s, something along those lines

Re: Let'em fly 9.5 deck guy's and gal's
I can't wait to post some new numbers on my engine. a little update on what I've been up to. The engine 427 made 760hp and 620ft/lbs torque. Nice but not enough. Problems arose with heads so another, better, set were done. I also wanted the engine to peak higher than 7000rpms and so we changed the cam. I bought this Probe Tunnel Ram Intake and Patrick at PRO systems has done up a set of what looks to be a set of 860cfm Annual discharge carbs( they look great Patrick! BarrY R at Survival Motorsports also hooked us up with the trickest ring package around and I'm sure we're going to easily surpass the 800HP mark. Engine should be on the dyno in 2-3wks The Car has also been minitubbed and we're also putting lexan in the front and rear windshields. Dave @ HO fiibertrends got us a glass rearhatch. It's been over a yr since I drove my car and simply can't take it any longer...........uhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

haven't decided if we're gonna run a wing or not. I'd like to try running without one, due to driving some on the street. If we run a wing it will be Racecraft or Skinny Kid...John

Well, i'll be running against 600"+ big block cheby's, so I need all the power I can get. I want to run 5.0-5.1's in the 1/8th. Not many 1/4 mile tracks around here. I don't want to turn it any higher than 8000 rpms.
The cam is a custom piece from Comp Cams and it was spec'd out by Ron at Advanced Airflow Engineering. The lifters are Crane Pro Series. The lift with a 1.8 rocker is around .845. Compression comes in at about 13.5:1 w/ a flat top piston. I'll be hitting it with a BUNCH of giggle gas.......i'll keep everyone posted on how it does.
Previous best with the 347 was a 6.04 w/ 1.30 60' time. (1/8th mile)

Yes, I run at shadyside.....I hope to have everything together and be testing by July. I'm currently installing a new Chromoly cage and am busy working on other peoples cars so it is taking longer than I expected. I have a link to a video that has some shadyside footage, i'll post it....

Hey Gregg what are the port volumes on Greg's Victors? (as a point of reference, won't go into the flow or cross section thing)

Re: Let'em fly 9.5 deck guy's and gal's
Mine's been run for an entire season.
Best et is a 9.46.
Best mph is 144.
1.26 best 60 ft.
Real simple set-up that seems to work well.
No plans to change anything for the upcoming season.

Re: Let'em fly 9.5 deck guy's and gal's
This is in my 2000 GT:
351W (stroked to 396), Eagle Crank & H-beam rods, SRP pistons, Canton deep pan, Victor Jr's fully ported and polished w/ upgraded valves and springs. Victor Jr intake ported and polished, AED 850 carb that's been worked, custom Comp solid roller, CRS water pump, all MSD iginition w/ crank trigger, 1 7/8" (I believe) w/ 3.5" collectors, Art Carr fully rollerized c4 w/ brake, 10 point chromoly cage, Flaming River manual rack and steering, all UPR tubular up front w/ coil overs, 8.8 w/ Moser mini spool, 4.10 gear, Moser axles, welded tubes, UPR uppers and lower control arms, UPR anti roll bar, Laurel Mtn drag launch springs in rear, sumped A1000, 90/10's, 50/50's, twin spal fans, Griffin rad, manual brakes, line lock, & NX for the squeeze.
First goal: GET IT CRANKED!! Yeah, this has been a long project w/ a lot of set backs, but it's almost there. Put it like this, Nitto Drag Radials were the hot ticket when we started this build!!
Next goal: Lighten it up more. I was initially trying to keep it in street trim. Well, since it's an OBDII car, it's ability to get inspected and register here in NC went out the window when we went to this setup. So, now that it's pretty much track only, there're some weight opportunities there. Get rid of the Mach 460 stereo equipment.
Next goal: Bigger tire out back, new brake setup, and go from 10 to 12 points on the cage.
Next goal: A glide.

Here's some pics and info on my 427 in my 86 GT. Still haven't gotten it running,as I am rewiring the "Whole Car"! Hope you like? 612 / 584 with only 1 3/4" long tubes on their dyno. Also ,they stopped her at 6K! Dyno Operater didn't know it had a Solid Roller in her. http://s28.photobucket.com/albums/c2...view=slideshow

Got ant pics to share? I've just started a project that is similar. Thanks

Re: Let'em fly 9.5 deck guy's and gal's
Is that drive and mount a proven design? Looks like it will flap around a lot cantilevered that far off the plate.
Are you injecting before the impeller? How well does that work?

well since this is back from the dead i did upgrade
every is the same but i changed to an F2...just didnt think the F1R would make the power to turn the 325's on the street
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/427-ford-with-F2_207528.htm
made big power....it wont have a hard time putting 1100.bhp. at 6000
with well over 900 ftlbs of torque
on 20lbs of boost...but some of that boost was the little kid headers on the dyno the 2"steep to 21/8 headers wouldnt fit on the dyno
still need to get the pipe powder coated
and a few more things done then it will be running

Re: Let'em fly 9.5 deck guy's and gal's
I burned my crank last summer, so here is what is being built:
SVO G351 bored from 4.02 to 4.06,
stroked from 3.9 to 4.0.
Flat top piston, 13:1 comp.
1.7 rockers for .712 lift.
Should go from 620 to 670 HP.
Hope to run 9.80's locally and 9.60's at lower elevation.

What are you using for headers? Does the car have a mustang II front end?
Thanks!
